Party Bouncing

This is a business idea that can save many people from embarrassment and financial loss. Let's face it, sometimes parties can get out of hand, causing problems with your neighbors, the police department, guests, your precious belongings, or even your home itself. You can provide a solution to these problems by providing security for the people giving parties.
If you are comfortable with offering security, your responsibilities will be to escort people out when they get too unruly, write down any items destroyed and by whom, and call the police department (you may be required to carry a cell phone for this). Understanding how to deal with people that have had too much alcohol to drink is an important skill also. This is more important than a large muscular build.
You will be in a customer's home, so you would not want to come across like a bouncer in a bar or nightclub (keeping people scared of your mere presence), unless the host asks you to scare them. Typically, this type of security work would require a professional, calm, security person that might appear as another guest at the party.
At some types of parties, you may even require every guest to sign a form upon arrival stating that if they destroy something (even by accident) they will replace or pay to replace items broken. This may seem a bit harsh, but if the party involves young or older adults that are known to be rowdy, destructive, drink too much, or if there is concern with uninvited guests arriving, your presence may be appreciated greatly host and guests.
It would be a good idea to have the local police departments' phone number on your speed dial, changing and checking it before each party location. You may also want to have a back-up person to call that is willing to help you out quickly, just in case you need their help occasionally. Bill the problem guests for the added security person, to take care of them and make sure this is clearly stated in the form they signed before entering the party.
You may find this service will become very popular these days, since this is a serious problem for many. How do you go about finding people that would like to pay you for your services? First, advertise as much as you can in local newspapers, liquor stores, party stores, and rental halls that rented for parties. Let your friends and relatives know that you could use their help to become better known for your services. Ask them to have parties and you will offer your services free of charge and give a discount to every party that is booked during their party, with you providing their security.
This could be an excellent 'business idea' for a retired police officer, or ex-military person, ex-bodyguard, a firefighter or a nightclub bouncer. The skills that you received before retirement, or without retirement, could allow you to have a small business of your own if you are getting bored with retirement or could use the extra money, as long as you have good health and are able to work well with questionable personality types. You could do this part-time, or full-time, whatever you prefer because you will be your own boss.
