Find a DJ

Music makes the world go round. Wherever we go, whatever we are doing, music always provides a feasible background for relaxation and enjoyment. Today, almost all functions that take place need music; be it a birthday party, a wedding, an anniversary, a prize function, everything needs music. To conduct and synchronize all this music, the organizers of these functions are always in need of a DJ. So if you have an uncanny ear for music, and have the capacity to talk impromptu at a function, providing DJ services for such functions proves to be a good income source for you.
As a DJ, you should know the different types of music the occasion will call for. For example, wedding parties may need some dance songs; however, at the same time, they will need some classic romantic songs and wedding related songs. There is different software available on the Internet today that helps you mix the songs you play as a DJ. You can create better atmospheres and better combinations of songs with this software. Dance parties need great mixing and this is where this mixing and DJ software comes most handy.
Of course, you will need to do some advertising so that party planners will be aware of your services. You could place an ad in the yellow pages and on the Internet. This way people who look for DJ services, both in the yellow pages and the Internet, will be aware of your services. Make sure you include your contact information in whatever advertisement that you make. You could also print some business cards to distribute amongst friends and relatives who could put in a good word about your services to acquaintances of theirs holding functions. In addition, when you go to other's functions, you could of course hand out your business cards to all those present for future use.
Upon finding your services, the party planner will of course pay you a visit. You will then have to get relevant information from him as to the venue of the function, the date and time of the function, what time they expect you to be there and what they actually need in a DJ. Once all this is clear, you just remember to be on time for the function! Of course, you have to charge for all these services, perhaps an hourly rate, or a fixed rate for a function.
Of course, if you are not that familiar with mixing and the general work of a DJ, you could always catch hold of a few friends who are well versed in it. You could do the marketing and advertising part of the job where you find jobs for them while you charge a percentage of what the partner earns for the gig. So, if you do not know much about being a DJ, but know the marketing involved in getting DJ gigs, you might as well start a DJ hiring service for DJ's you know.
