Cooking For Profits

Are you more at home in the kitchen than any room of the house? Does the idea of experimenting with fresh locally grown ingredients make you swoon? Well, as it turns out, you are just the person that many households are looking for! They do not have the time to cook a tasty good quality meal. The only real solution to their cooking needs is to hire a personal chef - you!

Many people today are having a problem with meal times. Although they have a great desire to feed their family healthful great tasting food and avoid fast food or prepared foods full of chemicals and preservatives, they just do not have the time. Many resort to ordering from food delivery services, but this is not a practical long-term solution to their dilemmas!

As a personal chef, you can prepare a set number of meals for a certain number of days during the week. You could even cook for a dinner party. You could discuss beforehand personal preferences of the household that you will be cooking for. For most people, the hardest dinners to prepare are the ones that come after an exhausting day at work. Thus, you will most likely be scheduling dinners for weeknights.

By sticking with locally grown foods that are in season, you will save money on ingredients and provide the families you are cooking for with a meal that has robust flavor and is full of vitamins and minerals. You can prepare most of the ingredients in advance and bring them to the location of the people you are cooking for.

The actual cooking you can do on the premises (your kitchen) so that they will receive their meals piping hot and fresh from the stove and your capable hands. With careful scheduling and preparing the ingredients in advance, you will have the ability to do the actual cooking for more than one household on any given night. Having multiple clients will also allow you to buy ingredients in bulk, much as restaurants do. This will also save you money.

You can also offer your clients another option. You can completely prepare a week's worth of healthy meals beforehand and deliver them all at once. Then, your client will have the option of heating the meals up at their leisure.

By registering with organizations that send out personal chefs on demand in a person's area, you will get your new cooking business on its feet and get a little bit of experience. At some point in the future, you may even want to obtain chef certification with the USPCA (United States Personal Chef Organization).

In the meantime, your first order of business will be to help people find you! Word of mouth is a quick way to increase your client base. While you are becoming established you will also want to print up flyers and post them in places where professionals and nonprofessional people in your area (who would be more likely to need your services) would be more likely to frequent. Be sure to include popular lunch places and coffee shops! Most post-offices and grocery stores also have bulletin boards that they will allow you to place an advertisement on. Be sure to take advantage of any public bulletin boards in your immediate area to find people who are looking for you and your services. In no time at all, you will have built up a large clientele base, many by word of mouth as they enjoy your professional services in action!
