Celebrating Multiple Christmases for a Fee

Posted by 0 comments

Ever thought of celebrating more than one Christmas at the same time and getting paid for it too? Well… Maybe you should.

This is a business idea which multiplies not only your happiness but also of others around you. While you enjoy your multiple Christmases and make new friends, your bank account is busy accumulating the green bucks you earn.

This is a very simple but extremely profitable venture wherein you help people install and uninstall Christmas decorations. While some people would want this service because of laziness, others would look forward to it to get a better and more professional decoration done (maybe just to "one up" their neighbors in the Christmas decorations department). Some might hire this service due to their inability to do the Christmas decorations by themselves (owing to sickness, old age etc).

Since you have been setting up Christmas decorations for your house every year, and have seen lots of different kinds of decoration over years, you already know the basics of this job. However, you have to differentiate yourselves in order to create a niche market for yourself. So it would be good to start with learning few more techniques and ways of installing Christmas decorations. Some internet research and a good book would do the trick for you (check the resources at the end of this article).

You can include services like installation of Christmas lights, colored paper based decorations, tree decorations, candle patterns, flower decorations, cake decorations, decorative salad and food arrangements, un-installation of decorations, etc in your portfolio of services. You could also offer complete festivity packages covering decorations, gifts, flowers , Christmas trees, flowers, packed food items and just about anything and everything which people would want for celebrations. You could team up with wholesale dealers for getting all these items at a cheaper rate.

Include a short book of Christmas carols or a small gift/memento as a bonus. The gifts could be things like a small Santa or just a T-Shirt.

Tip: Any free gifts e.g. Santa/t-shirt should have your phone number and website address printed on or attached to them. These can act as very effective marketing tools for your business.

Website, inserts in local newspapers, distribution of attractive pamphlets at churches and shopping centers are all good ways of advertising your services. Also, always maintain high standards of quality for the services. No advertising is better than the word of mouth.

As you build upon your business, remember to build a portfolio of decorations/services done by you with references to the clients who bought those services. Including photos of the decorations done by you previously will help prospective judge your capabilities immediately and facilitate in getting more business.

Tip: Do not wait for getting first few contracts to build your portfolio of works. You can try various decorations in your house and include them as samples on your website and pamphlets.
